The course provides family caretakers with education about mental health conditions, skills workshops, and information about available resources. The NAMI Family-to-Family curriculum includes:
Most importantly, the course offers family members the invaluable opportunity of open conversation and mutual support in a stigma-free environment. Course participants, now more than 400,000 people nationwide, find that the Family-to-Family experience empowers them to understand and pursue paths toward healthy recovery for their loved ones, their families, and themselves.
Donna is a volunteer leader of the Family-to-Family course and is very excited to meet the wonderful participants. She is also a retired public librarian who loves to read, of course, and truly enjoys helping people connect with resources. She came to NAMI for the same reason you did, to get support because she loves people in her life with mental illness. She's happy you found NAMI too.
Vesper is a volunteer leader of NAMI's Family-to-Family course and is thrilled to meet you! She’s a second-year graduate student in mental health counseling at Boston College, fluent in both Mandarin and English. Passionate about reading and journaling, Vesper joined NAMI for the same reasons many of you did and is dedicated to offering the sense of support and understanding she has found here to other families in need.
We ask that all interested participants, even from the same family, register individually for this course. Registration will be limited to those that have officially registered.
